We've been shipping whisk + add-on orders since last Friday, and are processing new batches on a rolling basis throughout this week.
As mentioned in each pledge level and in your BackerKit survey (but bears repeating here for clarity, as a few of you have written in with questions!) - no matter what your tier, location, or add-on configuration, the following items will ship in April 2018:
- Tongs (of any size/finish)
- Skinny Ladle
- A few other out-of-stock items as noted in BackerKit surveys/add-ons
If you backed at an Early Bird level, your pledge already contains a Split Shipment so that you get whisks, spoonulas, and most other add-ons this month. If you didn't back at an Early Bird level, you had the option to upgrade to Split Shipping in BackerKit - and if you did so, we've got you on our list and your package will ship this week! If you're not in an Early Bird tier or didn't explicitly opt for Split Shipping in BackerKit, we'll hold everything for you until the tongs are finished in April and ship you a big bundle all together. Check out Update #9 for a visual walk-through of the Split Shipping option. As always, we're here to help! If you're confused or unsure, just send an email to [email protected] or take a look at your BackerKit account to make sure you're getting what you wanted, when you wanted it!
DOMESTIC US backers: If you haven't completed your survey yet, please take a look through your inbox for your BackerKit survey invitation. We want to be able to ship your package this month if you're expecting it, and time is running out for us to meet courier-imposed holiday shipping deadlines. Please note that try as we might, we can't guarantee holiday delivery for domestic US backers whose surveys aren't completed by 11pm GMT Thursday December 14th. We'll continue to process surveys and shipments daily after that, just can't guarantee that elusive pre-12/24 delivery date.
INTERNATIONAL backers: We've already passed the cutoff for guaranteed holiday delivery (which was December 7th as mentioned on our previous update), but we can still roll the dice if you're hoping for a package delivered on/before December 24th. Please complete your survey ASAP and we'll get your package shipped out this week!

A shipping confirmation email with tracking will be (or has been!) sent to each of you this week... assuming we have your survey responses, of course. If you can't see it in your inbox, take a look in junkmail/filters before reaching out to us. Sometimes these messages just don't like to make themselves easy to find!
If you're just now getting to your survey, please wait 72 hours before looking for that tracking email. We're turning most orders around much faster than that, but given courier pickup schedules it may take up to that long between survey completion and when our system pushes out your notification.
In addition to an initial shipping confirmation, everyone will be receiving scan-by-scan progress notifications through our Aftership account (emails come from [email protected]) so that you can watch your package make its jaunty trip across land or sea to your doorstep. The bonus here is that it will also send you a delivery notification so that you know exactly when it's been dropped off.
The results are in! This project generated a bunch of interesting data, and we're excited to be able to share them with you. Stay tuned to your inbox for an email from us + BackerKit containing some fun stats about the project and what we were able to do as a community! Feel free to share these with us or out to your social networks... or just nerd out on how cool it is that we could all come together to make these products a reality.

Quick update: for all of you who have completed your surveys, we'll be locking down this afternoon so that we can move on to the next phase of shipping prep! If you added items to your pledge in BackerKit, you'll see a credit card charge come through from GIR / Sorry Robots LLC (that's us!). We are hoping to get many of your shipments out the door on Friday.
We'll be locking down in batches on a daily basis from here on out, so don't fret if you haven't had time to answer yet. We'll get you tomorrow!
Super important for INTERNATIONAL backers: time is tight for holiday delivery. If you want a package delivered on/before December 24th, please don't forget to complete your survey ASAP. We can't guarantee holiday delivery for international backers whose surveys aren't completed by 11pm GMT Thursday December 7th. We'll certainly do our best no matter what, but postal transit times here are 5-10 business days on average - we've got to get everything in the mail by Friday if we want to make sure your package arrives on time, and that means a late night for us Thursday gathering the final survey responses and processing them through the warehouse.
For US backers, things are slightly less urgent but still time-sensitive. We'd like to have all US backer surveys completed ASAP as well, but we have a few more days before courier cut-offs overtake us and put holiday delivery at risk.

Over the past 24 hours, we've launched surveys to all pledge tiers - if you don't see yours in your inbox, shoot us a message! We've sent 100% of them as of 5pm Pacific today.
We'll lock down survey responses and start packing boxes in just a couple days. Expect another update before then, but just wanted to give you a heads-up here... we're moving quick! Please please get your responses in sooner rather than later so that we can ensure that we pack up your gear in time for holiday delivery if you're expecting it.
Split shipping
An important reminder on split shipping: some pledge levels included JUST 2017 shipping, some included JUST 2018 shipping, and some included both. We’ve made it easy to tell by putting “2017 Shipping” and/or “2018 Shipping” into your cart for you based on your pledge tier and/or add-on selections.
If you’d like a split shipment and your BackerKit cart only shows one of the two shipping windows (2017 Shipping or 2018 Shipping), make sure to add the Split Shipment add-on before finishing checkout so that both shipping windows appear in your cart.
For instance, if you backed only for tongs, but now would like some other available items delivered in December, you'll be able to add the Split Shipment "Holiday Delivery" add-on. Or, if you backed only for whisks, but want to add some tongs, you'll be able to add the Split Shipment "2018 Delivery" add-on so we can get your whisks sent out this month and follow up with another shipment in April.
